Get Connected With Mac OS 7.5.3 or Higher
Note:
- This guide assumes that the ethernet card is already installed.
- Sorry, we can't help with hardware installations...
Configuration
- Go to the Apple Menu, select Control Panel and open TCP/IP.
- Under Connect via:, select Ethernet.
- Under Configure:, select Dynamically
- Do not enter any additional information. Your IP Address will be assigned automatically when you reboot your machine.
- Make sure the checkbox for Use 802.3 is unchecked.
- Select Options....
- Click on the Active radio button and it is up to you if you want it active all the time or not by checking/unchecking Load only when needed. Checking Load only when needed may save some RAM if you don't use network applications often. If you use network applications very often, it is theoretically better to have it checked on.
- Click on OK
- Close TCP/IP by clicking on the top left box.
- Save the new settings.
- Reboot if you are asked to do so.
